We have added several new lines to our inventory

  • Try before you buy - not sure which air fryer, slow cooker, hob or soup maker to buy then try them here before buying
  • Summer of fun - a selection of outdoor games/fun for the summer holidays, picnics or for hosting a party at home
  • Fun together - family cooking equipment; popcorn maker and candy floss maker for a movie night in? Churro maker and chocolate fountain for a day of deliciousness? (Search MAKER for more items)

Did you know the average cost of a power drill is £40, but it will likely be only used for around 14 minutes in its whole lifespan?

Join The Tool Shed and you can access our shared tools when you need them, rather than buying your own.

While we do not charge for membership, as of May 18th 2023, we will be implementing a small loan fee for borrowing items.  All income received is reinvested back into the tool library so that we can ensure all the tools are safe and fit for purpose.

Collection and returns are currently from our main site at The Lord Arthur Rank Centre in Trostre, Llanelli.

While we are unable to offer a delivery service, if you would like to borrow a larger item but have no means of collecting it and you live within a 5 mile radius of our centre, please get in touch as we may be able to assist.

Tools and more

Loans are for a period of 7 days unless stated otherwise. There is no discount/refund if an item is returned early as charges are per loan not per day. Loan charges are payable on collection - CASH ONLY PLEASE!

As well as borrowing tools, we can also supply some basic hardware at cost, such as screws and nails to help you get your job done.  If you don’t need to buy a large bag of screws, we can sell you just a few at cost price to help you save money and stop waste.

The Tool Shed Rules

The project is specifically for individuals and families who live in Carmarthenshire and have a low disposable income.

The Tool Shed project is for personal use only, and tools cannot be loaned by an individual for business use.

Tools in our inventory can only be used by Y Sied Offer/The Tool Shed members, and are not to be loaned to a third party by any borrower. We ask all our members to return tools clean, on time, and ready for the next member to loan.

We also ask that members report any damage immediately. We won’t charge you for broken tools, but we do need you to tell us so that we can ensure that all our tools are safe for the next borrower.  If you can afford to, we would appreciate a donation so that we can replace it. Of course, if you would like to return an item in even better condition than when you received it we would really appreciate that too!
